About Us

KENNEL CLUB OF PAKISTAN (KCP) was organized in 1983, as a non-stock, non-profit service-oriented corporation registered under Societies Registration Act 1860, for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the love for pure-bred dogs. The name “KENNEL CLUB OF PAKISTAN - KCP” along with its logo is also registered under the Copy Right Ordinance 1969. The KCP is also registered with Central Board of Revenue bearing National Tax Number (NTN)_____________.

The KCP currently has one main office and 2 sub offices in Pakistan i.e. Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

KCP is dedicated to registry of pure-bred dogs or stud books, to conduct dog shows and competitions, educational seminars and conduct breed surveys under the authorized breed wardens of the KCP.

In addition to the studbooks, KCP maintains a registry of regular and associate members, and of litters and kennel names. KCP issues registration certificates and certified pedigree certificates of dogs, and confers championship titles. KCP issues dog show judging licenses to qualified members for individual breeds, groups of breeds and all breeds of pure-bred dogs.

Chairman Message

Syed Tasvir Hussain who is the Chairman Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP) is a renowned breeder of Labrador and an International Judge.

Born in 1950 to a family which had immense passion for dogs ran in the family. It was as early s 1914 that the grandfather of Syed Tasvir Hussain namely Syed Nadir Hussain imported grey hounds from Ireland. The father of Syed Tasvir Hussain namely Syed Shabbir Hussain was a great fancier of gun dogs. He is known to have imported , kept and bred Irish Setters, Springer Spaniels and Labradors.

Syed Tasvir Hussain who is a Lawyer by profession himself entered into the dog world by establishing Hunjerwal Kennels in 1990. Around this time the Labrador breed in Pakistan was almost verge of extension. This breed was unfortunate to be in the hands of those who despite having all means at their disposal did not take any constructive measures for the breed in Pakistan.

Syed Tasvir Hussain imported his breeding stock from Pririze Kennel UK, Newing Kennel Uk, (and more to be added) . He embarked on a very ambushes breeding program and in a very few years time totally transformed the Labrador scenario in Pakistan. Hunjerwal Kennel is known to have bred countless champions out of which the first champion Sohni of Hunjerwal was in 1994. Today many well known Labrador breeders owe their initial support from Syed Tasvir Hsain. Today atleast four to five famous kennels have their roots of support from Syed Tasvir Hussain. Syed Tasvir Hussain became judge for gundogs in 1995 and all breed judge in 1997. He became FCI All Breed Judge in 2011. He has judged till date dozens of shows.
